Down Town Top Ranking 9/16 with Special Guest KING MILO ALL PURPOSE SOUND!

Each and every Thursday we here at Deadly Dragon Sound present DOWN TOWN TOP RANKING - REGGAE REVIVE SESSIONS. Each week we have special guests come down to play from big, well known sound systems like DOWN BEAT, BLUNT POSSE and KING RYUKYU to smaller sound systems, collectors, and selectors who have great taste and love for the music. At Down Town Top Ranking we celebrate the vinyl and we try to keep the music in the realm of 60s, 70s and early 80s. Basically...Its an analog night, and by keeping it that way we hoped to create a warmth and a consistent vibe where we could delve deep deep deep into the music we love without anyone pressing us to play Murder She Wrote! Well.... things have worked out brilliantly for the most part and the night has become a fixture for fiends of Foundation Sounds. This last week our good friend KING MILO ALL PURPOSE SOUND came down and blessed us with two wicked sets including a wicked run on the JOSHUA's WORD riddim

A whole heap of NY's finest selectors were in the building including the man called Top Cat -- here' s a photo with Milo and Top Cat

and the great GRANTY ROOTS (Eastman Sound) blessed the place with one of my all time favorite NY entertainers...the man called SCREECHY DAN:

Well...While KING MILO touched on some massive roots and reggae classics, Deadly Dragon's own MR. K burned down the spot with a set of wicked Studio One and Treasure Isle Rock Steady

K's big tunes had everyone feeling nice like sugar & spice...especially Deadly Dragon's Selector JD with the Resting General

Queen Majesty got on and dropped a whole heap of massive chune -- some BIG forwards for a tune like Gaylads "AFRICA". Here's QM and FADDA BLUNT listening to Selector JD's huge set which included a great Tommy McCook version of JAVA!

So many big tune Man like Screechy had to jump pon the mic to make intro!

Deadly Dragon's Scratch Famous jumped pon the set and delved deep into the riddim runs and some serious roots and culture...and once he spotted the great Johnny Osbourne he dropped Johnny's tune on ITAL INTERNATIONAL 10" called "THE LOVE OF MUSIC" which he had picked up that day. Mass forwards followed!!!!!

Here's Johnny and the great Peter Roots a.k.a. Rock of Gibralter

and KITANO CREATION SOUND in the spot!

All in all a wicked night! Thanks to all who came out and supported!

NUFF RESPECT!!!
