BOOM!!! This Thursday its LA invasion at DownTown Top Ranking as we proudly welcome 2 very special guests making their DTR debut!!!
First up we are pleased to welcome our good friend Aaron from the band Peaking Lights who will be passing thru and dropping a heap of tunes!!! We first met Peaking Lights out in LA when we played at DUB CLUB last year. The husband and wife duo (Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis) have released 3 albums that blend the textures and space of the heaviest dubbed out reggae with pop, electronics and psychedelia for a sound uniquely their own -- suffice it to say, Aaron is a major reggae head and we are super excited to hear what big chunes he will be bringing with him!
As well, we are thrilled to welcome Ras Sal to Downtown Top Ranking. Ras Sal has been one of LA's most devoted collectors / selector / musician of reggae music as well as the co-host of the "Reggae Showcase" radio show that ran for 7 years. He has also written numerous articles and interviews about reggae music and the artists that created it. He selects with ZION LOVE SOUND SYSTEM alongside Selector Mikah and Shinehead on Mic duty. He will be bringing a heap of SERIOUS roots so be ready!!!
